Dodgers right-hander Hiroki Kuroda is undoubtedly one of the best pitchers potentially available at the trade deadline. But, how available is he?
According to a source in a Scott Miller report at CBSSports.com, Kuroda (6-3, 3.11 ERA) continues to “seem apprehensive” to waive his no-trade clause. Miller goes on to say that “several industry sources” believe that it is likely he would not accept a deal to a team other than Boston or New York. This hasn’t fazed the Tigers, Indians and Rangers, who all remain actively interested.
A Jon Heyman tweet supports this theory. It indicates that Kuroda would not accept a deal to the Tigers or Indians, and the chance of him waiving his not trade clause to come to an AL East power is “iffy” as well.
Despite his undecided status, Miller writes the 36-year old is “the biggest wild card between now and Sunday’s non-waiver trade deadline.”
